Care for the Earth is care for people.

Humans are a giant piece of global ecology. Our treatment of land has far-reaching impacts.

Our goal is to reduce pollution and increase native biodiversity, for the health of the entire planet. We do not use invasive plants that can take over and destroy local ecosystems in our designs, we use plants native to the area. Native plants provide food and habitat for birds and pollinating insects, while invasive plants provide problems.

We choose plants based on local climate, soil, water, and topography, and also group plants that are beneficial to each other for growth and strength.

We would love the opportunity to help design or redesign your landscape so that your land works alongside the Earth, and at the same time reduces your maintenance expenses and energy usage.

About the Director

Midwest Native Designs is directed by Justin Traylor, who has worked in multiple design and landscape maintenance jobs over the last 20 years. Justin has a bachelor’s degree in design from Ohio University, a certificate in Permaculture Landscape Design from Oregon State University, and has been learning about and observing the way the Earth works throughout his entire life. He understands that the health of the Earth depends on many, many living creatures, and that our landscapes and gardens should support a strong ecology.
